What’s included in your treatment

Acupuncture
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that unwanted fat is a result of a poor-functioning digestive system. The points utilized in a body sculpt session will focus on the digestive system’s functionality as well as supporting the liver and kidneys natural detoxification process. We will also address individual factors such as stress, anxiety, hormones, etc.
Similar to our Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture, these sessions have a predetermined needle placement as a base to treatment. Additional needles may be placed based on the individuals needs but these treatments should not be seen as a traditional community or private room treatment.

Light Therapy
Red and near-infrared light have been demonstrated in clinical trials to activate adipocytes, also known as fat cells. The Celluma Contour’s red and near-infrared wavelengths impact natural cellular responses in the skin and fat by emptying fat via the creation of temporary pores in the fat cell membrane. This causes lipids inside the cell to leak into the interstitial space and be flushed out of the body via the lymphatic and circulatory systems. As a result, the amount of fat stored within cells is reduced, leading to improved skin appearance and enhanced body shape. This process is also non-invasive and does not destroy or kill the body’s fat cells.
After needles are placed a three-panel Celluma light therapy device is positioned over the abdomen and either arms or legs. This will stay on for 30 minutes before being removed for cupping.

Cupping
The final step in the Body Sculpting session is cupping. Cupping is an ancient healing technique used by many practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During a cupping treatment silicone cups are placed on the patients back. A suction is created that enables stagnation to be released as well as assist the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
By having cupping as the final step of this treatment we are assisting in moving those newly released lipids, from the light therapy, out through the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
Cupping can create raised redness (petechiae) which can last anywhere from 4-7 days.

Light therapy is contraindicated if you have any of the following:
-undiagnosed or known cancerous growths
-seizure disorder or epilepsy
-photosensitivity due to a health condition

Body sculpting therapy runs on a sliding scale of $90 - $150 per session. New clinic patients will also be required to pay a $10 intake fee in addition to the treatment cost.

The session will start with acupuncture and our Celluma light therapy device (which is placed over the stomach and either the arms or thighs). You will relax with this for about 40 minutes. After removing the needles, you will then have cups placed along your back for 10 minutes to assist with lymphatic and circulatory movement. These noninvasive modalities are a great combination to assist with you feeling you best self!
